Ingredients

  • 4 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups almonds (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2/3 cup dried tart cherries
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries

Cherry Almond Granola

This wholesome and homemade granola tastes like a treat, but is packed with healthful nutrients and unprocessed ingredients. Its only flaw? It seems to disappear as fast as you can make it.

Cooking Directions

    Preheat the oven to 300° F. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray (do not spray if you are using a nonstick baking sheet).

    Combine the oats, almonds, sesame seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt in a large bowl. Combine the maple syrup, honey, oil, and almond extract in a separate bowl. Add maple syrup mixture to oat mixture and stir well to combine. Spread mixture in an even layer on a nonstick baking sheet. (If you do not have non-stick, coat the pan with cooking spray before using).

    Bake, stirring every 10 minutes, until the mixture is lightly browned, about 40-45 minutes. Remove from the oven and stir in the cherries and cranberries. Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
