Perfecting the way cookware is created since 1981.

Meet our Chief Inventor. Born in Hong Kong, Stanley Cheng graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in mechanical engineering, and quickly fused a growing passion for food and wine with an aptitude for developing technologically-advanced products.

In 1981, Stanley founded Meyer Corporation in Vallejo, California, 30 miles north of San Francisco and a stone’s throw away from the dynamic food culture of the Napa wine country.

Two challenges captured Stanley’s imagination: how to make hard-anodized cookware easy to clean, and how to boost the durability of nonstick coatings.

Our TOTAL Nonstick System

Cooking solutions come through innovation.

Through commitment and determination, he discovered how to combine premium nonstick with hard-anodized cookware. Better still, he boosted the nonstick’s durability and performance by placing it on a unique cooking surface of raised circles.

Unveiled in 1984, Circulon became the world’s first line of hard-anodized nonstick cookware, and the patented system of raised circles and premium nonstick revolutionized the industry, offering consumers pots and pans that were three times more abrasion resistant than any other nonstick cookware.

In the thirty years since its launch, Circulon has continued to expand its innovative circle technology into other kitchenware products, but our core mission remains the same: to make cooking easier and more enjoyable. More than three decades since our Chief Inventor’s original innovations, we’re still doing that for you.
